MELBOURNE - Apr 22/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will cross southern Victoria tonight and early Tuesday morning. A high pressure system will drift across South Australia on Tuesday then become slow moving over New South Wales on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Meanwhile a cold front will move through Bass Strait on Wednesday, with another to follow Thursday night. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers mainly on and south of the ranges increasing over the Southwest and Central districts tonight. Isolated thunderstorms possible over the far southwest. Moderate to fresh northwest winds, but a colder southwesterly change extending from the west tonight.Tuesday 23 AprilIsolated showers in the east contracting to the coast during the afternoon and mostly clearing. Isolated showers also possible over the southwest, but dry across the remainder of the State. Cool to mild with moderate to locally fresh west to southwesterly winds.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Wednesday 24 AprilMorning fogs patches in the north and east. Isolated showers mainly over the southwest. Dry over far northern and eastern districts. Cool to mild with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds.Thursday 25 AprilMorning fog patches in the east. Isolated showers possible over the southwest, along the coast and also over the northeast ranges, but dry elsewhere. Generally mild with light to moderate westerly winds, fresh on the exposed coast.Friday 26 AprilIsolated showers over the southwest and along the coast, but dry elsewhere.
