MELBOURNE - Apr 22/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weakening low pressure trough will cross Victoria this morning. A cold front will cross southern Victoria tonight and Tuesday morning. A high pressure system will drift across South Australia on Tuesday then become slow moving over New South Wales on Wednesday and Thursday while weak cold fronts cross Tasmania. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers, mainly about the ranges and in the southwest but showers becoming scattered in the southwest late in the day and evening. Moderate to fresh northwest to westerly winds shifting colder southwesterly later over the southwest.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Tuesday 23 AprilIsolated showers, mainly in southern and mountain areas, contracting to the coast during the afternoon. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 24 AprilMorning fogs in the north and east. Isolated showers in the south, locally extending inland to affect most southern and mountain areas in the afternoon. A fine afternoon over the far north and East Gippsland. Cool to mild with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds.Thursday 25 AprilMorning fog patches in the east. Isolated showers in the south, scattered on the southwest coast. The chance of light showers extending inland to the western and central ranges in the afternoon. A fine afternoon over the far north and East Gippsland.
