Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 21/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of Tasmania extends a ridge northwards into New South Wales, while a low pressure trough approaches from the west. The trough is expected to cross western parts of the state overnight, continuing to the east during Monday, although in most areas its effects will be fairly weak. Behind this, another slow-moving ridge will develop across the region, and is expected to remain the dominant synoptic feature through the coming week.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers or patchy rain in the far west, mainly near the Victorian border, extending towards the western slopes of the tablelands through the evening. Light to moderate north to northwesterly winds in the west, and variable winds near the coast. Dangerous surf conditions, easing from the south.Monday 22 AprilEarly fog patches about the coast and tablelands. Isolated showers or patchy rain in southern and eastern districts, scattered at first about the southern ranges and western slopes, mostly clearing through the day. Fine and partly cloudy otherwise. Light to moderate northwest to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 23 AprilEarly fog patches about the southern and central coast and tablelands. The chance of showers over parts of the southern inland, and the south coast later. Fine and mostly sunny otherwise. Light to moderate south to southwesterly winds, freshening about the southern coast.Wednesday 24 AprilEarly fog and frost patches about the southern and central coast and tablelands. The chance of showers about the far north coast, and the southern coast at first. Fine and mostly sunny otherwise. Generally light southeast to southwesterly winds.Thursday 25 AprilEarly frost patches about the southern tablelands. Isolated showers along the northern half of the coast and adjacent tablelands.
