Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 19/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high to the south of Tasmania is moving slowly eastwards and weakening. A low pressure trough is expected to move across the far west of the State Saturday evening, and then extend eastwards to reach the eastern border Sunday evening. A weak front will move across southern coasts on Monday, with another front passing well to the south later Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine apart from patchy rain developing west of Nullarbor this evening. Mild, grading to warm to hot in the north and west. Moderate to fresh southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 20 AprilPatchy rain extending across western districts and the North West Pastoral south of about Coober Pedy during the day, possibly reaching Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island late evening. Possible isolated thunderstorms west of Ceduna. Cool to cold early with isolated frost patches about eastern districts, then a mild to warm day, grading to hot in the far northwest. Moderate to fresh southeast to northeast winds, tending northerly in the west ahead of a fresh southwesterly change over far west in the evening.Sunday 21 AprilAreas of rain extending across the southern agricultural area, with patchy rain across the northern agricultural area, Flinders and south of the pastoral districts, grading to isolated showers over the north of the pastoral districts, and contracting to eastern districts in the evening. Isolated showers to follow about the agricultural area. Moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a southwesterly change in the west, reaching eastern districts in the evening. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north.Monday 22 AprilIsolated showers about the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts, increasing to scattered showers about southern coasts in the afternoon and evening. Isolated showers also near the northern border. Moderate northwest to southwest winds, becoming light and variable in the northwest later. Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north.Tuesday 23 AprilIsolated showers across the agricultural area, and about the northern border. Moderate westerly winds in the south, light and variable further north. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday evening to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm over the agricultural area, reaching 15 to 20 mm about southern coasts and ranges, with local falls of 20 to 30 mm. 2 to 5 mm is expected over the south of the pastoral districts and less than 2 mm further north.Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers over the agricultural area, clearing later Wednesday. Isolated showers in the far northwest. Fine throughout on Friday. Mild to warm days with generally westerly winds in the south, tending southeast to northeasterly in the north.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
