MELBOURNE - Apr 18/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1035 hPa southwest of Tasmania is moving eastwards. A low pressure trough will move into the far west of the State late Saturday, and then extend eastwards over the State on Sunday. A weak front will move across southern coasts on Monday. Forecast for the rest of FridayFine apart from possible isolated light showers about the pastoral and Flinders districts before dawn. Cool to cold early, then a mild day, grading to warm to hot in the north and west. Moderate to fresh southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 20 AprilPatchy rain extending across western districts and the North West Pastoral south of about Coober Pedy during the day. Mild to warm, grading to hot in the far northwest. Moderate to fresh southeast to northeast winds, tending northerly in the west ahead of a fresh southwesterly change over far west in the evening.Sunday 21 AprilAreas of rain extending across the southern agricultural area, with patchy rain across the northern agricultural area, Flinders and south of the pastoral districts, grading to isolated showers over the north of the pastoral districts, and contracting to eastern districts in the evening. Isolated showers to follow about the agricultural area. Mainly moderate northerly winds ahead of a southwesterly change in the west, reaching eastern districts in the evening. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north.Monday 22 AprilIsolated showers about the agricultural area and south of the pastoral districts, increasing to scattered showers about southern coasts in the afternoon and evening. Isolated showers also near the northern border. Moderate northwest to southwest winds, becoming light and variable in the northwest later. Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday morning to midnight Monday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm over the agricultural area, reaching 10 to 20 mm about southern coasts and ranges. 2 to 5 mm over the south of the pastoral districts and less than 2 mm further north.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers about the agricultural area on Tuesday, contracting to southern coasts on Wednesday and clearing later.
