Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 17/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front is crossing the southern Tasman Sea and a strong high pressure system is moving towards Tasmania extending a ridge to New South Wales north coast behind the front. The next cold front is expected to move through the state during Monday as the high moves southeast of Tasmania and the ridge weakens across the state.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers south and central coasts and ranges with late snow showers above about 1400 metres on the Alps. The chance of morning showers on the north coast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Variable wind in the northeast, with southeast to southwesterly winds extending across the remainder, freshening on the southern coast.Friday 19 AprilIsolated showers about the coast and adjacent ranges with rain areas developing later on the southern coast and adjacent ranges. Possible snow showers on the southern Alps above 1400 m. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Cool southwest to southeasterly winds, becoming strong and gusty along much of the coast and adjacent ranges.Saturday 20 AprilIsolated showers along the central and southern coasts and adjacent ranges. Early snow above about 1400 metres on the Alps. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds, fresh and gusty near the coast.Sunday 21 AprilIsolated early fog and frost on the southern and central ranges. Isolated showers along the central coast and adjacent ranges. Patchy rain developing in the west.
