Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 17/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1028 hPa well south of the Bight is moving eastwards and will strengthen to 1035 hPa southwest of Tasmania on Thursday evening and will then move over the southern Tasman Sea on Saturday. A low pressure trough will move into the far west of the State late Saturday, and then extend eastwards over the State on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers near southern coasts, clearing during the afternoon. Cloudy with light patchy rain over the Northwest Pastoral and West Coast districts, northwest of about Streaky Bay to Woomera. A cool to mild day in the south, grading to warm in the far north. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds tending moderate to fresh east to southeasterly later.Friday 19 AprilFine. Partly cloudy. Cool to cold early, then a mild day in the south, grading to warm to hot in the far north and west. Moderate to fresh easterly winds.Saturday 20 AprilPatchy light rain extending across the west, south of about Coober Pedy. Cool in the south grading to mild to warm in the far northwest. Mainly moderate northeast to northerly winds, ahead of a fresh southwesterly change extending into the far west.Sunday 21 AprilAreas of rain extending across the southern agricultural area, with patchy rain across the northern agricultural area, Flinders and south of the Pastorals, gradually easing to isolated showers from the west. Isolated showers over the north of the Pastorals. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday morning to midnight Sunday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm over the agricultural area, reaching 10 to 20 mm about southern coasts and ranges. 2 to 5 mm over the south of the Pastoral districts and less than 2 mm further north.Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers in the far north, clearing later on Monday. Isolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered over southern coasts and ranges later on Monday, becoming isolated and contracting to the southern agricultural area on Tuesday and clearing by Wednesday. Possible isolated showers in the far west on Wednesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Thursday.Product IDS10033
