MELBOURNE - Apr 15/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough over northeastern New South Wales will weaken later today as a high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge into the state's west. This high is forecast to move slowly east over the next few days, strengthening a ridge over New South Wales during the second half of the week. This is expected to restrict any shower activity to areas near the coast, until the next trough moves over the region later on the weekend. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the east, with showers more frequent about the central and northern coasts and ranges. The chance of early snow flurries about the Alpine peaks. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Northerly winds in the far northeast, and south to southwesterly winds elsewhere.Wednesday 17 AprilIsolated showers about the coast and adjacent range, tending scattered in the north. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Thursday 18 AprilIsolated coastal showers, tending scattered near the southeast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Friday 19 AprilIsolated showers about the coast and adjacent range. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere.
