Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 15/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front is moving across northeastern half of New South Wales. On Tuesday the trough will move the far northeast of the state and weaken and a high pressure system will move southwest of the Bight extending a ridge to the east. This high will strengthen and move near Tasmania during Friday strengthening the ridge to the north coast. Another cold front is expected to move through the state during Sunday and Monday as the high moves to the southeast and weaken.
Forecast for the rest of MondayPartly cloudy in the northeast and in the far southwest. Patchy rain or showers and isolated thunderstorms elsewhere. A little snow about the Alpine peaks above 1900 metres later this evening. North to northeast winds in the northeast. South to southwesterly winds developing over the remainder. Dangerous surf may develop on the South Coast and Illawarra during the afternoon.Tuesday 16 AprilIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast and on the central coast and ranges. Showers tending scattered near the north coast. Isolated showers in the southeast with morning show showers about the Alpine peaks above 1900 metres. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Showers falling as snow about the Alpine peaks above 1900 metres during the morning. Northwest winds in the far northeast. South to southwesterly winds remainder.Wednesday 17 AprilIsolated showers coast and adjacent range. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Thursday 18 AprilIsolated coastal showers tending scattered near the north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to southwest winds.Friday 19 AprilIsolated showers coast and adjacent range. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
