MELBOURNE - Apr 14/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system near New Zealand extends a weakening ridge to central NSW. A low pressure system well off the northern New South Wales coast is expected to continue to move slowly to the south/southeast. A slow moving trough currently over far southwest NSW, is expected to move across the state over the next few days. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers in the far northeast along the coastal fringe. Isolated showers in the south. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Light to moderate winds, northwest to southwest inland, and southeast to northeast along the coast.Monday 15 AprilPatchy rain and the chance of thunderstorms in the south and west, increasing in the southwest. Showers falling as snow about the Alpine peaks above 1700 metres later in the evening. North to northeast winds in the northeast. South to southwesterly winds remainder. Dangerous surf developing on the South Coast and Illawarra during the afternoon.Tuesday 16 AprilIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms in the east, increasing over the central ranges and coast. Isolated showers over the western slopes, clearing during the afternoon. Showers falling as snow about the Alpine peaks above 1700 metres during the morning. Northwest winds in the far northeast. South to southwesterly winds remainder.Wednesday 17 AprilPossible showers in the northeast, more likely in the far northeast. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Thursday 18 AprilIsolated coastal showers.
