MELBOURNE - Apr 13/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough will linger near northeastern Victoria today before deepening on Monday and moving southeastwards as an upper level trough approaches from the west. A low pressure system will form over Tasman Sea on Tuesday before moving away to the east. A cold front will pass through Bass Strait on Wednesday as the next high pressure system forms south of the Bight. Forecast for the rest of SundayScattered showers over the southwest and over the eastern ranges with isolated showers possible elsewhere. The chance of thunderstorms, mainly about the ranges. Areas of smoke haze in the east. Generally mild and partly cloudy with light winds tending light to moderate southwest to southerly.Fire Danger - Generally Low to ModerateMonday 15 AprilRain areas in the east, contracting to Gippsland during the afternoon. Scattered showers in the south. Dry over the northwest plains. Generally cool with moderate southerly winds, locally fresh about the southeast.Tuesday 16 AprilScattered showers over the southeast. Isolated showers elsewhere in the south, but tending to clear from the west. Dry and mostly sunny across the north. Cool to mild with moderate southerly winds.Wednesday 17 AprilIsolated showers on and south of the ranges. Dry and mostly sunny over the north.
