MELBOURNE - Apr 13/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak cold front will move over the far southern parts of the State on Sunday. A high pressure system to the southwest of Perth will continue to move eastwards to be located south of the Bight Wednesday night. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers developing over southern agricultural areas, possibly extending over remaining areas south of about Coober Pedy to Yunta. The chance of isolated thunderstorms about the Flinders, Mid North, Riverland and the Pastoral districts south of about Woomera to Yunta. Cool in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Light winds in the far northeast, and light to moderate northwest to westerly otherwise in the Northeast Pastoral. Moderate southwest to southerly winds extending over the remainder, and extending into the Northeast Pastoral during the evening.Monday 15 AprilIsolated showers over the agricultural area and western coast, temporarily increasing to scattered showers about the southern coasts around the middle of the day. Possible isolated afternoon showers developing over the Northeast Pastoral, Flinders and Riverland districts. Possible isolated afternoon thunderstorms developing over the Northeast Pastoral district north of about Leigh Creek to Broken Hill. Cool to mild, increasing to mild to warm about the far north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 16 AprilFine apart from isolated showers about southern and western coasts. Cool to mild in the south, mild to warm in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes.Wednesday 17 AprilIsolated showers about southern and western coasts, contracting to southern coasts by the end of the day. Cool to mild in the south, mild to warm in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday morning to midnight Wednesday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm, increasing to 5 to 10 mm about southern coasts. Less than 2 mm is forecast over Pastoral areas north of about Tarcoola to Leigh Creek.Thursday until SaturdayPossible isolated showers moving across the pastoral areas from the west and clearing later in the period. Isolated showers clearing from southern coasts on Thursday before re-developing over southern and western coasts next Saturday.
