Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 13/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system near New Zealand extends a ridge to central NSW. A low pressure system well off the central Queensland coast is expected to move south over the weekend to be well off the northern NSW coast Sunday morning. The low should then move southeast, towards New Zealand during the early part of next week. The low passage will bring locally heavy rain to far northeastern NSW on Saturday, easing Sunday. A slow moving trough is expected to affect the state during the first half of the next week with showers extending to most districts from the southwest.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers in the northeast, tending to rain areas on the northern coast, heavy at times. Fine elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds, tending fresh southeasterly in the northeast, particularly along the coast.Sunday 14 AprilIsolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered over the far north coast. Patchy rain developing in the south. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southwest winds in the south and west, and along the coast in the northeast. Northeasterly winds remainder.Monday 15 AprilPatchy rain and the chance of thunderstorms in the south and west, increasing in the southwest. Isolated showers in the far northeast. North to northeast winds in the northeast. South to southwesterly winds remainder.Tuesday 16 AprilScattered showers in the east. Isolated showers over the western slopes, clearing during the afternoon. Northeast winds in the far northeast. South to southwesterly winds remainder.Wednesday 17 AprilPossible showers in the east, more likely along the central coastal fringe.
