MELBOURNE - Apr 12/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will pass to the southeast today. An upper level system will move across the State later Sunday and Monday as a weak ridge becomes established south of the Bight. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers developing about Kangaroo Island and the South East, tending scattered for a period during the late morning and afternoon, with possible isolated light showers extending to remaining districts south of about Port Lincoln to Loxton. Fine elsewhere with increasing high cloud. Mild in the south grading to hot in the north and west. Light and variable winds in the far north. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds further south, shifting southwesterly during the afternoon and evening.Sunday 14 AprilIsolated showers developing south of Coober Pedy, increasing to patchy rain across northern Eyre Peninsula, the Mid North, Flinders, Riverland and southern parts of the Pastoral districts. Cool in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Light winds in the far northeast. Moderate southerly winds extending over the remainder.Monday 15 AprilPatchy rain over the Mid North, Flinders, Riverland and Pastoral districts east of Coober Pedy, easing and contracting northeast during the day. Isolated showers over the remaining parts of the agricultural area and West Coast, contracting to southern coasts by evening.Tuesday 16 AprilIsolated showers about southern and far western coasts. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 1 to 5 mm generally over the agricultural area, increasing to 2 to 10 mm over parts of northern Eyre Peninsula, the Flinders, Mid North, Riverland and southern parts of the Pastoral districts. Less than 2 mm is expected elsewhere.Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers about southern and western coasts, contracting to the South East coast Thursday afternoon. Possible patchy rain developing in the northwest of the State from Thursday afternoon.
