MELBOURNE - Apr 12/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weakening high pressure ridge will maintain fine conditions for most of the state apart from northeast tonight and on Saturday. During the weekend a trough is expected to develop off the Queensland coast then move south while deepening into a low over the northern Tasman Sea. The low passage will trigger strengthening winds and heavy falls in the far northeast on Saturday, easing on Sunday. A slow moving trough is expected to affect the state during the first half of the next week with showers to affect most of the districts. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers along the central and northern coast and adjacent ranges, tending scattered in the far north. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far southeast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 13 AprilScattered showers in the northeast, increasing to rain periods on the northern coast with possible heavy falls near the Queensland border. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds tending gusty east to southeasterly about the northern coast.Sunday 14 AprilShowers in the northeast, with rain areas on the far north coast at first. Patchy rain developing in the south. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds, gusty about the northern coast.Monday 15 AprilPatchy rain in the south and west, increasing in the southwest. Isolated showers along the coastal fringe in the north.
