Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 11/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure is strengthening over the Tasman Sea in the wake of a weak trough, and will maintain a ridge across much of New South Wales today. During Saturday a trough is expected to develop off the Queensland coast then move south while deepening into a low over the northern Tasman Sea. Later on the weekend another weak trough is forecast to cross southern parts of the state.
Forecast for the rest of FridayEarly fog patches about the coast and tablelands. Isolated showers along the central and northern coast and adjacent ranges, tending scattered in the far north later in the day. Isolated showers in the southeast, contracting to the southern alps by afternoon. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 13 AprilScattered showers in the northeast, increasing to rain periods on the northern coast with possible heavy falls near the Queensland border later in the day. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds tending gusty east to southeasterly about the northern coast.Sunday 14 AprilShowers in the northeast, with rain areas on the far north coast at first. Patchy rain developing in the south, with thunderstorms possible along the south coast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds, gusty about the northern coast.Monday 15 AprilPatchy rain in the south and west. Isolated showers along the coastal fringe in the north.
