MELBOURNE - Apr 11/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front moved across southern areas of Victoria this morning. A high pressure system will move over Tasmania tonight, reaching the Tasman Sea on Friday. The next cold front will move through western Victoria later on Saturday, reaching central areas at night and the east on Sunday morning. A high pressure ridge will then extend across Tasmania late on Sunday as a low pressure trough forms over eastern Victoria. The low pressure trough will move just east of Victoria by late on Monday as a cold front moves south of Tasmania. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers in the southeast. Light and variable winds.Friday 12 AprilMorning fog in most districts. Isolated showers in the east, contracting further eastwards during the day, otherwise fine. A mild to warm day with light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger - Moderate to high.Saturday 13 AprilFine apart from isolated showers in the west. A mild to warm day with a moderate northerly wind, shifting southwesterly in the west later.Sunday 14 AprilScattered showers developing in southern and mountain districts, isolated in the north. Generally mild with moderate west to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Monday 15 AprilIsolated showers in southern and mountain districts, becoming more widespread in the east.
