MELBOURNE - Apr 9/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system centred over the south Tasman Sea is drifting eastwards. A cold front will approach southwestern Victoria late on Wednesday, before moving across southern areas of the State on Thursday. The next high pressure system will move over Tasmania on Friday while another cold front will approach western Victoria later on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the the far east, otherwise dry. Areas of smoke haze, mainly in the east. Light winds.Wednesday 10 AprilDry. Widespread morning fog near the south of the ranges. Areas of smoke haze, mainly in the east. A mild to warm day with light winds.Fire Danger - Generally High.Thursday 11 AprilPatchy light rain extending across southern and mountain districts. Fine over the north. Mild in the south, warm in the north, with light to moderate south to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Friday 12 AprilIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas clearing during the afternoon. Fine to the north. A mild to warm day with light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Saturday 13 AprilFine apart from isolated showers in the far west.
