MELBOURNE - Apr 6/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak trough over southwest Victoria will move into central districts this afternoon and evening and then weaken. A large high pressure system in the Tasman Sea will weaken on Sunday as a cold front slips south of Tasmania. A new high centre will then move from Bight waters to pass south of Tasmania on Monday to reach the southern Tasman Sea on Tuesday. A low pressure trough will move eastwards across Bass Strait on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayMorning fog patches in south. Isolated showers in the north early this morning then developing in the west and about the central and eastern ranges during the afternoon with the chance of isolated thunderstorms. Generally warm with light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger - Moderate to high.Monday 8 AprilMorning drizzle patches near the coast and early fog patches in the south. The chance of local afternoon showers or thunderstorms over the central and eastern ranges. A mild to warm day with light to moderate southeast to southerly winds.Tuesday 9 AprilIsolated showers in the east but fine elsewhere. Mild to warm with light easterly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Wednesday 10 AprilEarly fog patches in the southwest and isolated morning showers in the far east. Mild in the south, warm in the north with light winds tending moderate southwesterly.
