MELBOURNE - Apr 5/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A strong high pressure system near Tasmania is the dominant synoptic feature in the region, and is directing generally easterly winds across New South Wales. This pattern is bringing showers to many areas east of the Divide, while promoting generally fine conditions to the west. During the next day or two this high will drift slowly east and weaken as an upper level trough moves northward over eastern NSW. The upper trough will promote heavier and more widespread shower activity about the coast and ranges over the weekend. A weak low pressure trough will cross the south of the state late on the weekend before the next high moves across from the west in a manner quite similar to the current system.
