Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 1/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure ridge lies over northern Victoria. A cold front over the Southern Ocean will move northeastwards rapidly to cross Bass Strait and clip southern Victoria on Tuesday morning. A large high pressure system will develop over Bight waters on Tuesday then move slowly eastwards during Wednesday and Thursday, reaching the Tasman Sea on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayMostly cloudy. Isolated showers near the coast and over the southwest. Light to moderate westerly winds, fresh at times near the coast.Tuesday 2 AprilScattered showers over southern and mountain districts with only isolated showers extending north of the divide. Generally cool and mostly cloudy with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.Fire Danger -  High in the northwest.Wednesday 3 AprilIsolated showers in southern and mountain areas mostly clearing during the afternoon. Fine over the north. A cool day with a moderate southerly wind.Thursday 4 AprilFine apart from isolated showers about the central coast clearing during the morning. A mostly sunny day with a light southeasterly wind and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Friday 5 AprilFine and mostly sunny.
