MELBOURNE - Mar 30/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high to the southwest of Perth extends a ridge over South Australia. The high will move slowly eastwards to be centred to the south of SA by mid week. A series of weak fronts will pass over the south of the State over the next few days. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayAreas of rain over the Pastoral and Flinders districts east of about Woomera to Marla, contracting eastwards to be northeast of Marree late evening. Isolated showers over the agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to scattered over the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the far northeast, with mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds tending northwesterly in the south at first this evening.Sunday 31 MarchEarly fog patches over the North West Pastoral, West Coast and Flinders districts. Areas of rain in the far northeast, contracting eastwards to clear by evening. Isolated showers over the agricultural area and West Coast district, contracting to coastal parts during the afternoon. Cool in the south grading to mild in the north with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.Monday 1 AprilPossible isolated light showers about the coasts, contracting to southern coasts in the afternoon. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, tending westerly in the south.Tuesday 2 AprilIsolated showers extending over the southern agricultural area and remaining coasts, contracting to southern coasts later. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north and west with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 3 AprilPossible isolated showers near southern coasts, clearing during the morning. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north and west with moderate south to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from late Saturday afternoon until midnight Wednesday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the Pastoral and Flinders districts east of about Woomera to Marla. Up to 2 mm is expected over the agricultural area and West Coast district, increasing to 2 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area.Thursday until SaturdayFine.
