MELBOURNE - Mar 30/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak trough lies over northeastern New South Wales, while a ridge of high pressure is developing along the coast. Patchy rain associated with an upper-level trough will move through the state later today and Sunday as a cold front passes to the south. Behind this system, another high is expected to drift slowly across from the west, promoting fine conditions inland and restricting precipitation to a few showers near the coast during the coming week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayHigh cloud extending from the west, with some patchy rain developing in far western districts. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, and generally light and variable winds inland.Sunday 31 MarchPatchy rain in most districts, clearing in the west, and increasing to rain areas in the far northeast with isolated thunderstorms. North to northeast winds in the northeast, south to southwesterly winds extending throughout the remainder.Monday 1 AprilIsolated showers over the central and northern coast, and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny inland. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 2 AprilIsolated showers about the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and sunny inland. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Wednesday 3 AprilIsolated showers in the east. Fine remainder.
