Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 29/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weakening trough lies over northeastern New South Wales, with a ridge of high pressure extending into western New South Wales in its wake. Another cold front will move rapidly to the south of the state later on Saturday and early Sunday. The high is expected to move very slowly east over the next few days strengthening the ridge across the state.
Forecast for the rest of FridayRain areas in the northeast, contracting further northeast and easing to showers later. The chance of a thunderstorm. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.Saturday 30 MarchThe chance of showers in the northeast. Increasing high cloud developing from the southwest during the afternoon, with any rainfall expected to evaporate before it reaches the ground. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to southwesterly winds, becoming light and variable inland.Sunday 31 MarchIsolated showers in the in the northeast, tending scattered in the far northeast. The chance of a thunderstorm, more likely in the far northeast. Increasing high cloud over the remainder of the north, with any rainfall expected to evaporate before it reaches the ground. South to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Monday 1 AprilIsolated showers over central and northern coast and ranges. Mostly sunny inland. South to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 2 AprilIsolated showers over the coast and ranges. Sunny inland.
