MELBOURNE - Mar 28/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will cross southern coasts this morning and another front will do likewise on Saturday. A high to the southwest of Perth will extend a ridge over South Australia on Friday. A middle level trough combined with tropical moisture will maintain a band of rain across the north of the State for the next few days. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayAreas of rain northeast of about Coober Pedy to Renmark, easing to isolated showers and contracting to northeast of Coober Pedy to Marree late evening. Possible isolated thunderstorms in the far northeast until early afternoon. Scattered showers over the Lower South East during the morning, becoming isolated and clearing mid afternoon. Possible isolated morning showers over the remainder of the southern agricultural area, west coast and far south of the Northwest Pastoral. Cool to mild, grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Friday 29 MarchIsolated showers north of about Coober Pedy, increasing to areas of rain in the far northwest. Possible isolated showers about coastal districts. Mild to warm with mainly moderate southwest to southeast winds.Saturday 30 MarchIsolated showers north of Woomera, increasing to areas of rain of about Coober Pedy. Isolated showers developing about the southern agricultural area and west coast, scattered about the Lower South East districts.Sunday 31 MarchIsolated showers in the far northeast clearing during the day. Isolated showers over the southern agricultural area and the west coast. Mild with moderate southwest to southeast winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday morning until midnight Sunday are expected to be up to 2 mm over the southern agricultural area, increasing to 2 to 10 mm about the Lower South East. Less than 2 mm is expected over the northern agricultural area, south of the pastoral districts and west coast. Falls of 5 to 20 mm are expected across the north of the Pastoral districts with local falls of 20 to 50 mm possible in the northwest.Monday until WednesdayPossible isolated light showers about the coasts.
