Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 26/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will approach New Zealand today as a trough and associated cold front crosses the Bight. The trough will move across western Victoria Wednesday as the cold front slips southeastwards over Tasmania. A stronger cold front will cross Victoria on Thursday, followed by a ridge of high pressure on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine apart from isolated showers in the east this morning. A warm to hot and mainly sunny day with moderate northerly winds and milder afternoon seabreezes near the Gippsland coast.Fire Danger -  High to Very High.Wednesday 27 MarchPatchy early morning fog in Gippsland. Areas of rain and isolated thunderstorms developing over western districts, extending to central districts in the evening. A hot day with fresh northerly winds, locally strong about elevated regions.Thursday 28 MarchAreas of rain contracting to eastern districts in the afternoon and the far east at night. Scattered showers to follow near and south of the ranges. Isolated thunderstorms possible near the southwestern coast in the evening. A cooler day with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds tending west to southwesterly from the west in the afternoon and evening.Friday 29 MarchRain areas in the far east clearing during the morning. Scattered showers over southern and mountain districts becoming isolated and contracting to the coast by the evening. A cool to mild day with moderate southwesterly winds, fresh at times near the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Tuesday.Product IDV10310
