Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 24/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over Victoria is moving eastwards and will be centred over the Tasman Sea later today. The high will approach New Zealand on Tuesday as a trough and associated cold front crosses the Bight. The trough will move across western Victoria Wednesday, the cold front to follow later in the day. The trough and cold front will weaken as they move to eastern districts early Thursday. Another stronger cold front is likely to cross the west Thursday morning reaching the east in the afternoon and evening.
Forecast for the rest of MondayPatchy morning fog inland and areas of cloud in the south, clearing during the morning. A mostly sunny afternoon. Warm inland with light winds, but milder near the coast with afternoon seabreezes.Fire Danger -  Moderate to High.Tuesday 26 MarchPatchy morning fog in the east, otherwise a dry, warm and mostly sunny day. Moderate northerly winds and afternoon seabreezes near the Gippsland coast.Wednesday 27 MarchPatchy early morning fog in Gippsland. Areas of rain developing over western districts in the afternoon, extending to central districts in the evening. A hot day with fresh northerly winds, locally strong about elevated regions.Thursday 28 MarchAreas of rain contracting to eastern districts in the afternoon and the far east at night. Scattered showers to follow near and south of the ranges. Isolated thundertorms possible near the southwestern coast in the evening. A cooler day with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds tending west to southwesterly from the west in the afternoon and evening. West to southwesterly winds becoming strong along the coastal fringe.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Monday.Product IDV10310
