MELBOURNE - Mar 23/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system near New Zealand is maintaining a ridge to the northwest Tasman Sea, while a low pressure trough lies over northeast New South Wales. The trough is expected to remain over the northeast during Sunday, although weakening as another high pressure system approaches from the west. As this high shifts to the Tasman Sea early in the new week, warmer northerly winds will affect the state ahead of the next cold front, expected during Thursday and Friday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayShowers and isolated thunderstorms over northeast, and the central ranges. Fine elsewhere. Mainly light and variable winds although gusty near thunderstorms.Sunday 24 MarchIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, scattered about the northern ranges in the afternoon. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Northwest to northeasterly winds about the coast and in the northeast. West to southwesterly winds elsewhere.Monday 25 MarchIsolated showers and possible afternoon thunderstorms about the northern coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere.
