Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 22/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure extends from the Bight to northern Victoria. The ridge will persist over the weekend while weak cold fronts pass just south of Victoria. A high pressure system will develop just to the east of Victoria on Monday, moving across the Tasman Sea on Tuesday as a trough of low pressure crosses the Bight.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayDry over the northern plains and over East Gippsland. Isolated showers developing over the southwest this morning and extending to remaining adistricts this afternoon. A mild and partly cloudy day. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds tending west to southwest along the western and central coasts this afternoon.Fire Danger -  High.Sunday 24 MarchIsolated showers in the southwest becoming scattered near the coast and extending to central areas during the day. Fine elsewhere. A mild partly cloudy day. Moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds gradually tending west to southwesterly.Monday 25 MarchFine. A warm and mostly sunny day. Light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Tuesday 26 MarchFine. A warm and mainly sunny day.
