Scattered showers and isolated storms are also expected over Cape York Peninsula, the Gulf of Carpentaria coast and the North Tropical Coast and Tablelands. The ridge should gradually strengthen and allow humidity levels to increase a little about the southeast and central coast, but these regions will nonetheless be fine except for some isolated showers. Scattered showers about the coast north of about Mackay, more widespread and tending to rain periods north of Cooktown. Scattered showers and isolated storms over the far northern tropics. Above average temperatures over the west of the state.
