MELBOURNE - Mar 22/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A deep low pressure system south of Tasmania will move away to the southeast tonight while a high pressure ridge develops over northern Victoria. The ridge will persist over the weekend while weak cold fronts pass just south of Victoria. A high pressure system will develop just to the east of Victoria on Monday, moving through the Tasman Sea on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers, mainly in the southwest and about the ranges. West to northwesterly winds, moderate at first near the coast.Saturday 23 MarchIsolated showers over the southwest and locally in central parts but otherwise dry. Generally mild and partly cloudy with moderate northwesterly winds.Fire Danger - High.Sunday 24 MarchIsolated showers in the southwest becoming scattered near the coast and extending to central areas during the day. Fine elsewhere. A mild partly cloudy day with moderate northwest to westerly winds, fresh about the coast.Monday 25 MarchFine. A warm and mostly sunny day. Light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Tuesday 26 MarchFine. A warm and mainly sunny day.
