MELBOURNE - Mar 22/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system near New Zealand is slowly moving to the southeast maintaining a ridge to New South Wales north coast and a cold front/low pressure trough is crossing central New South Wales. The trough will move over the northeast on Saturday and weaken during Sunday as another high pressure ridge develops throughout the state. The next cold front is expected to move through the state on Thursday and Friday. Forecast for the rest of FridayMostly clear in the northeast apart from isolated showers on the far north coast. Partly cloudy in the far west and southern inland with the chance of showers near victorian border. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere tending scattered on the central slopes and ranges and possibly severe. Northwest to northeasterly winds ahead of a south to southwesterly change in the west and southeast.Saturday 23 MarchShowers and isolated thunderstorms over northern and central parts. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to southwest winds, turning northeasterly along the northern coast.Sunday 24 MarchIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeasterly winds becoming west to southwesterly in the southwest.Monday 25 MarchThe chance of showers near the coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Tuesday 26 MarchIsolated showers on the far north coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
