Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 21/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system near New Zealand is slowly moving to the southeast maintaining a ridge to New South Wales north coast and a cold front is approaching the western boarder of the state. The front will move across the southwestern half of the state overnight and during Friday before weakening over the northeast on Saturday. On Monday the trough will weaken further further as another ridge develop throughout the state.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayShowers and isolated thunderstorms in the west and southeast with rain areas on the western slopes of southern and central ranges. Isolated clearing showers on the far north coast. Northeast to northwesterly winds, becoming strong and gusty across the south ahead of a late southwesterly change in the far southwest.Friday 22 MarchShowers and isolated thunderstorms over northern and central parts and the chance of showers in the far southern inland. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeasterly winds ahead of a south to southwesterly change in the west and southeast.Saturday 23 MarchShowers over northern and central parts, with isolated afternoon thunderstorms. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to southwest winds, turning northeasterly along the northern coast.Sunday 24 MarchIsolated showers with the chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeasterly winds becoming west to southwesterly in the southwest.Monday 25 MarchThe chance of showers near the coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
