MELBOURNE - Mar 19/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea will move slowly towards New Zealand over the next couple of days maintaining the ridge to the the northwest. A trough will move through the state on Thursday and Friday, bringing an increase in northwesterly winds and some rain to the south of the state on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over southern inland areas during the afternoon. Morning fog patches in the east. Partly cloudy elsewhere. East to northeasterly winds, freshening locally in the south.Thursday 21 MarchThe chance of early showers in the northeast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing across the southern inland with rain periods near the Victorian border. Showers extending to the southern coast later. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds, becoming fresh and gusty across the south ahead of a southwesterly change.Friday 22 MarchIsolated showers over northern and central parts, with thunderstorms possible over central parts during the afternoon. South to southwesterly winds in the south. Northwest to northeasterly winds in the north.Saturday 23 MarchIsolated showers over northern and central parts, with thunderstorms possible over the west slopes of the northern ranges during the afternoon.
