MELBOURNE - Mar 16/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation Ex Tropical Cyclone Sandra weakens over the southwestern Tasman Sea. A low pressure trough and associated cold front will move across northeastern New South Wales today and strong high pressure system is moving south of the Bight extending a ridge behind the front bringing cooler and drier air across the state. This high will move over the Tasman Sea during Tuesday and then it will move towards New Zealand maintaining the ridge to the north coast. The next cold front is forecast to affect the state late in the week. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers along the coast, clearing from the south. Morning showers about the southern ranges. Fine and mostly sunny in the west. Southerly winds extending throughout, fresh and gusty near the coast and in the far west. Dangerous surf conditions southwards from Port Macquarie.Fire Danger - Very High: North Western Fire District.Monday 18 MarchIsolated showers about the northern coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of showers about the central coast, and on the southern ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 19 MarchIsolated showers about the northern coast and adjacent ranges, and the possibility of an early shower or two about the central coast. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms over the northern inland. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Wednesday 20 MarchIsolated showers along the northern coast and adjacent ranges, and the possibility of an early shower or two about the central coast.
