Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 16/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred southwest of the Bight is moving eastwards and will be positioned over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday and Wednesday. A low pressure trough will develop near the western border on Wednesday morning, then extend over western districts during the day.
Forecast for the rest of SundayPossible isolated light showers about southern coasts, mostly clearing by early evening and about the far west during the afternoon, otherwise fine. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Moderate southeasterly winds, fresh at times about the coasts.Monday 18 MarchFine apart from possible isolated light showers about southern coasts, clearing by midday. Mild near southern coasts, warm elsewhere, grading to hot in the far northwest. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes.Tuesday 19 MarchFine and sunny. Warm in the south grading to hot in the north and west. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, freshening in the west.Wednesday 20 MarchPossible isolated showers and thunder developing over western districts. Hot, grading to very hot in the far northwest, with freshening northerly winds, ahead of a milder southwest to southerly wind change in the west, extending eastwards to reach a line near Kingscote to Coober Pedy late evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday morning until midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 1 mm near southern and western coasts.Thursday until SaturdayMild to warm, grading to hot in the far north. Isolated showers south of about Broken Hill to Coober Pedy on Thursday, contracting northwards to be confined to areas north of Woomera to Broken Hill on Friday and Saturday, although isolated showers persisting near southern coasts. Mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
