Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 16/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front crossing eastern Victoria will move out over the Tasman Sea on Sunday morning but a rather cold vigorous southerly airstream will persist over Victoria on Sunday. A high pressure system will drift slowly eastwards over waters south of the Bight during Sunday before approaching Bass Strait on Monday. The high will drift to the east of Victoria during Tuesday to lie over the central Tasman on Wednesday and a cold front will cross Bight waters during Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers on and south of the divide, widespread over parts of Gippsland and Central Victoria. Local thunderstorms possible about the coast. Isolated showers in the north, clearing. Cool to cold with fresh to locally strong southwest to southerly winds.Sunday 17 MarchIsolated showers in the south, scattered in the southeast at first. Fine over the north. Cool and partly cloudy in the south, milder and mostly sunny in the north. Fresh southerly winds.Fire Danger -  Generally high.Monday 18 MarchIsolated showers in the south. Mostly sunny in the north. A mild day with light to moderate southerly winds.Tuesday 19 MarchFine after isolated early coastal showers. A mild to warm and mostly sunny day with a light wind and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Wednesday 20 MarchA fine and warm to hot day with northerly winds freshening from the west. Isolated showers reaching the southwest at night.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
