Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 15/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front over the southeast coast will move across Bass Strait today. A high pressure system centred southwest of WA extends a ridge to south of the Bight. The high will move eastwards to a position south of the Bight on Sunday, reaching the Tasman Sea on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayScattered showers over the Lower South East decreasing to isolated showers by early afternoon. Isolated showers extending from the south over the remainder of the southern agricultural area during the morning. Showers then contracting to southern coasts by late afternoon, and clearing late evening. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds becoming fresh to strong about southern and western coasts.Sunday 17 MarchFine apart from possible isolated light showers about southern coasts. Cool to mild near southern coasts grading to warm in the north. Moderate southeasterly winds, fresh at times about the coasts.Monday 18 MarchFine apart from possible isolated light showers about southern coasts. Mild near southern coasts grading to warm in the north and west. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and afternoon sea breezes.Tuesday 19 MarchFine. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north and west. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, freshening in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday until midnight Tuesday are expected to be 1 to 2 mm over the southern agricultural area, with isolated falls of less than 1 mm over the northern agricultural area. Falls of 2 to 5 mm are possible near southern coasts and in the Lower South East.Wednesday until FridayPossible isolated showers developing near southern and western coasts, extending over the agricultural area and West Coast district on Thursday and Friday. Warm to hot on Wednesday with moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of a milder southwest to southerly wind change in the west, extending eastwards to reach eastern districts on Thursday. Mild about southern coasts on Thursday and Friday, but continuing hot in the north.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
