Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 14/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will cross the southeast coast early Saturday. A high pressure system centred southwest of WA will extend a ridge over the Bight during the next few days. The high will move to a position south of the Bight on Sunday then move over the Tasman Sea by Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine and mostly clear. Mild with moderate south to southeasterly winds.Friday 15 MarchPossible isolated light showers about the western and southern coasts, otherwise fine. Mild to warm in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate southeast to southwesterly winds, freshening near the coast during the afternoon.Saturday 16 MarchIsolated showers extending from the south over the southern agricultural area and increasing to scattered showers south of Naracoorte for a period during the morning. Possible isolated showers over western coasts. Showers then slowly contracting southwards and clearing late evening. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds becoming fresh to strong about southern coasts.Sunday 17 MarchPossible isolated light showers about southern coasts, otherwise fine. Mild to warm with moderate southeasterly winds, fresh at times about the coasts.Monday 18 MarchPossible isolated light showers about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East coast, otherwise fine. Mild to warm with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday until midnight Monday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm about southern coasts and less than 2 mm elsewhere, mostly during Saturday.Tuesday until ThursdayFine. Warm to hot moderate southeast to northeasterly winds becoming hot northerly and freshening in the west on Wednesday ahead of a milder southwest to southerly change in the evening, reaching the northeast on Thursday evening.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
