Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 13/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred southwest of WA will extend a ridge over the Bight during the next few days. The high will move to a position south of the Bight on Sunday then move over the Tasman Sea early next week.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine apart from isolated light showers near western and southern coasts, clearing during the afternoon. Mild about southern coasts grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.Friday 15 MarchPossible isolated showers about the western and southern coasts, otherwise fine. Mild to warm in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate southeast to southwesterly winds, freshening near the coast during the afternoon.Saturday 16 MarchIsolated showers in the south extending over the southern agricultural area, with possible isolated showers over western coasts and the remaining agricultural area before slowly contracting southwards and clearing late evening. Mild to warm in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds becoming fresh to strong about southern coasts.Sunday 17 MarchPossible isolated showers about southern coasts and the east coast of Eyre Peninsula contracting south. Mild to warm with moderate southeasterly winds, fresh at times about the coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon until midnight Sunday are expected to be less than 2 mm with possible isolated falls of 2 to 5 mm about southern coasts.Monday until WednesdayPossible morning showers about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East coast, otherwise fine. Warming during the period to be hot throughout on Wednesday. Moderate southeast to northeasterly winds becoming northerly and freshening in the west on Wednesday ahead of a milder southerly change in the evening.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Thursday.Product IDS10033
