Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 11/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow-moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge towards New South Wales, maintaining a warm east to northeasterly airstream over the state. The high is expected to weaken during the next day or two as a cold front, currently near Western Australia, moves steadily east. This system is forecast to reach western New South Wales during Wednesday, weakening as it moves to the northeast on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayScattered showers along the northern coast. The chance of showers about the central, Metropolitan and Illawarra coasts and eastern parts of the northern tablelands. Afternoon showers about the Alps. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Wednesday 13 MarchScattered showers along the north coast. The chance of showers about the central coast at first. Possible afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the southwest. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 14 MarchIsolated showers and thunderstorms through central and southeastern parts of the state. Fine elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds in the north. Southerly winds in the south.Friday 15 MarchIsolated showers on parts of the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds, turning northeasterly in the southeast later.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Tuesday.Product IDN10031
