MELBOURNE - Mar 11/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1024 hPa over the southern Tasman Sea will move slowly eastwards. A cold front will reach the western border early Tuesday morning then move eastwards to reach Adelaide late Tuesday evening then into the far northeast during Wednesday morning. A high will ridge into the Bight on Thursday ahead of a southerly change extending across the State on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayDry apart from possible isolated light showers near western coasts developing during the afternoon and the western inland and southern coasts in the evening. Areas of raised dust in western districts and parts of central districts. Hot to very hot with freshening northerly winds ahead of a cooler, fresh to strong south to southwest change about the far west coast early morning extending eastwards to reach a line near Ernabella to Port Augusta to Mount Gambier late evening.Wednesday 13 MarchFine apart from isolated light morning showers in the west and south. Possible isolated showers in the southwest of the Northwest Pastoral until evening. Hot in the far northeast but milder elsewhere as moderate to fresh southerly winds extend throughout.Thursday 14 MarchFine apart from isolated light morning showers near southern coasts. Mild about southern coasts grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh at times near the coast.Friday 15 MarchIsolated showers developing about the West Coast and far south of the Northwest Pastoral during the morning, extending southeastwards over southern coastal districts during the evening. Mild to warm in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate southeast to southwesterly winds, freshening near the coast during the afternoon. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning until midnight Friday are expected to be less than 2 mm, possibly reaching 2 to 5 mm about the West Coast and far south of the Northwest Pastoral.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers extending over the agricultural area, about western coasts and the far south of the Flinders district slowly contracting southwards to be confined to the Lower South East Coast and southern coasts of the Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island by Monday morning then clearing. Mild to warm in the south grading to warm to hot in the north.
