MELBOURNE - Mar 8/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A large high pressure system is located over the central Tasman Sea, while a weak low pressure trough extends from central Australia to the Bight. The trough will enter western and southern Victoria later Saturday and then weaken in the evening. The Tasman Sea high will be reinforced from the west on Sunday, resulting in the freshening of a hot northerly airflow over Victoria early next week. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayMorning fog patches in Gippsland. Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing in the southwest during the afternoon. A very warm to hot day with a light to moderate northwest to northeast winds, shifting southwesterly in the west and south towards evening. Afternoon coastal seabreezes over Gippsland.Fire Danger - High to Very HighSunday 10 MarchMorning fog patches in the south. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms about the ranges during the afternoon and evening.
