Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 8/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the Tasman Sea will remain near stationary and a broad trough of low pressure will persist over South Australia, before dissipating during Sunday. A trough of low pressure will move into the far west of the State later on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and thunderstorms west of about Leigh Creek to Victor Harbor, increasing to scattered over Eyre Peninsula and the North West Pastoral south of about Coober Pedy. Hot and humid with light to moderate northeast to southeast winds.Saturday 9 MarchDry over the North East Pastoral east of Leigh Creek. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the remainder, clearing in the far west. Showers tending scattered over Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas, Kangaroo Island and the North West Pastoral south of about Coober Pedy until evening. Showers and thunderstorms mostly clearing throughout during the evening, Hot and humid with light to moderate northeast to southeast winds.Sunday 10 MarchFine. Mostly sunny. Generally hot with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds and afternoon sea breezes.Monday 11 MarchDry and mostly sunny. Hot grading to very hot in the west. Moderate northeast to northerly winds.Tuesday 12 MarchDry and mostly sunny. Hot to very hot with northerly winds, freshening in the west and south, ahead of a fresh and gusty southerly wind change in the far west in the evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be highly variable due to the convective nature of the atmosphere. Falls of 5 to 15 mm are expected over Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas, Kangaroo Island and the North West Pastoral south of about Coober Pedy with isolated falls of 15 to 25 mm with thunderstorms. Elsewhere totals are expected to be below 5 mm, with local falls of 5 to 10 mm with thunderstorms.Wednesday until FridayThe chance of isolated showers near western coasts. Hot to very hot with moderate northerly winds, ahead of a milder, fresh southerly wind change in the west, extending eastwards to reach eastern districts late Wednesday or Thursday.
