Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 7/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the Tasman Sea will remain near stationary and a broad trough of low pressure will persist over South Australia, before dissipating early next week.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers, scattered over Eyre Peninsula and over the North West Pastoral south of about Woomera. Isolated thunderstorms, chiefly over western districts. Warm to hot and humid with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.Friday 8 MarchDry over the Riverland and North East Pastoral east of Leigh Creek. Isolated showers over the remainder, tending scattered over southern coasts, Eyre Peninsula and the North West Pastoral south of about Coober Pedy. Isolated thunderstorms west of about Marree to Port Augusta to Kingscote, clearing in the far west. Hot and humid with light to moderate northeast to southeast winds.Saturday 9 MarchDry over the North East Pastoral east of Leigh Creek. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the remainder, clearing in the far west. Showers tending scattered over southern coasts, Eyre Peninsula and the North West Pastoral south of about Woomera in the morning. Hot and humid with light to moderate northeast to southeast winds.Sunday 10 MarchFine. Mostly sunny. Generally hot with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds and afternoon sea breezes.Monday 11 MarchHot grading to very hot in the west. Dry with moderate northeast to northerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon until midnight Monday are expected to be highly variable due to the convective nature of the atmosphere. It is generally expected that totals will be in the range of 2 to 5 mm, with local falls of 10 to 20 mm with thunderstorms. Falls of 15 to 40 mm are expected over Eyre Peninsula and the North West Pastoral south of about Woomera.Tuesday until ThursdayHot to very hot with northerly winds, freshening in the west and south, ahead of a southerly wind change in the west on Wednesday, extending eastwards on Thursday. Possible isolated showers in the west on Wednesday, and over western and southern coasts on Thursday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
