Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 6/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the Tasman Sea will remain near stationary this week. A trough in the middle levels of the atmosphere over central and eastern parts will move away to the northeast late in the week. A weak trough will develop over the west later in the week.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayScattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms in the far northeast. Isolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over the remainder of the Northeast Pastoral and Flinders districts, extending into the Mid North and the far east of the Northwest Pastoral during the afternoon. Possible isolated afternoon showers over the West Coast district east of Ceduna, Eyre Peninsula, northern Yorke Peninsula and parts of the Mount Lofty Ranges, Murraylands and Riverland. Hot with light to moderate east to northeast winds and local afternoon coastal sea breezes.Thursday 7 MarchIsolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral and Flinders districts extending over areas east of Coober Pedy but north of Naracoorte. Hot with moderate southeast to northeast winds.Friday 8 MarchPossible isolated showers in the west extending over parts southwest of Coober Pedy to Clare during the day. Possible isolated thunderstorms over the West Coast and Northwest Pastoral districts. Hot with moderate northeast to southeast winds.Saturday 9 MarchPossible isolated showers southwest of about Wudinna to Naracoorte on Saturday clearing by late evening. Hot with mainly moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday morning until midnight Saturday are expected to be highly variable due to the spread of rainfall guidance. It is generally expected that totals will be up to 10 mm, with local fall of 10 to 20 mm possible over the Northeast Pastoral, Eyre Peninsula and about the ranges. Falls of 20 to 40 mm are possible with heavier showers and thunderstorms.Sunday until TuesdayFine on Sunday and Monday then possible isolated showers developing in the far west during Tuesday afternoon and evening. Hot to very hot with mainly moderate northeast to southeasterly winds freshening in the west during Tuesday ahead of a milder fresh south to southwesterly change.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
