MELBOURNE - Mar 4/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the Tasman Sea will remain near stationary this week. A trough in the middle levels of the atmosphere will move across from the east over central and eastern parts during the early and middle part of the week then move away to the northeast later in the week. A weak trough will develop over the west of the state later in the week. Forecast for the rest of MondayPossible isolated showers in the far west. Isolated showers over the Northeast Pastoral, Flinders and south of the Northwest Pastoral districts. Possible isolated thunderstorms in the Northeast Pastoral. Moderate east to northeast winds and local afternoon coastal sea breezes.Tuesday 5 MarchIsolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral and Flinders districts, mostly during the afternoon. Hot with light to moderate east to northeast winds and local afternoon coastal sea breezes.Wednesday 6 MarchIsolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral and Flinders districts, extending into the Mid North and the far east of the Northwest Pastoral during the afternoon. Possible isolated afternoon showers over the West Coast district, east of Ceduna, the north of the Lower Eyre Peninsula and the west of the Eastern Eyre Peninsula. Hot with light to moderate east to northeast winds and local afternoon coastal sea breezes.Thursday 7 MarchIsolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral, Flinders and Mid North districts and the far east of the Northwest Pastoral. Possible late showers about the western border area. Hot with moderate southeast to northeast winds.Friday 8 MarchPossible isolated showers in the west extending over parts west of Woomera during the day. Hot with moderate northeast to southeast winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon until midnight Friday are expected to be less than 5 mm, reaching 5 to 10 mm in the north of the Northeast Pastoral district. Falls of 10 to 20 mm are possible with thunderstorms.Saturday until MondayPossible isolated showers southwest of about Wudinna to Naracoorte contracting to west of about Fowlers Bay early in the period.
