MELBOURNE - Mar 1/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A large high pressure system west of Tasmania will cross that State to reach the Tasman Sea on Sunday then it will become slow moving just to the east of Bass Strait and Tasmania early next week. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers over East Gippsland. Areas of cloud in Gippsland but clear over the remainder. Moderate to fresh south to southeast winds, locally strong about the coast and on Alpine peaks.Saturday 2 MarchFine apart from isolated showers over East Gippsland, mainly in the morning. Partly cloudy in Gippsland but sunny elsewhere. Mild to warm with moderate east to southeast winds, fresh and gusty about the coast.Fire Danger - Moderate to high grading to Very High in the Mallee.Sunday 3 MarchFine apart from the chance of early showers over far East Gippsland. A warm and mainly sunny day with a light to moderate east to northeasterly wind and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Monday 4 MarchFine. A warm to very warm and mainly sunny day with a light to moderate northeasterly wind and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Tuesday 5 MarchFine.
