Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 1/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow-moving trough lies over the state's northeast, while a high pressure system south of Adelaide extends a ridge into southern New South Wales. The trough is expected to linger over the northeast today and bring further rain, weakening during Saturday as the high becomes dominant. This high will drift slowly east over the following few days, maintaining a humid onshore airstream across most of the state.
Forecast for the rest of FridayRain areas and possible thunderstorms in northeastern areas, locally heavy in parts of the North West Slopes and Plains, Hunter and adjacent areas. Isolated showers on the southern coast and ranges. Fine elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds extending through most of the state, fresh to strong near the coast. North to northeasterly winds persisting in northeastern districts.Saturday 2 MarchRain areas over the northeast quarter, locally heavy along the coast. Showers about the remainder of the coast and adjacent ranges, isolated in the south. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeasterly winds, fresh to strong along the central and northern coasts.Sunday 3 MarchScattered showers about the northern coast and ranges. Isolated showers across the remainder of northern districts, and about the central and southern coasts. Fine over the southern and central inland. East to southeasterly winds.Monday 4 MarchScattered showers about the northern coast. Isolated showers along the remainder of the coast and adjacent ranges, and across the northern inland. Fine through the southern inland. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 5 March
Scattered showers on the north coast and eastern ranges. Isolated showers along the remainder of the coast and adjacent ranges, and across the northern inland. Fine through the southern inland. Southeast to northeasterly winds.
