Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 27/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
An upper level trough over eastern Victoria will clear to the east this afternoon. A high pressure system south of the Bight will drift eastwards on Friday to be just south of Tasmania on Saturday. The high should reach the Tasman Sea on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayRain in the east with local heavy falls in the far east at first, clearing eastwards. Isolated showers over southern and mountain districts, tending scattered over Gippsland. Mostly sunny conditions developing over the north and west this afternoon, but partly cloudy elsewhere. Cool with moderate to fresh southerly winds.Fire Danger -  Low to Moderate in the east grading to High to Very High in the west.Friday 1 MarchIsolated showers in Gippsland and near the coast contracting to East Gippsland during the afternoon. Fine and mainly sunny over the remainder of the State. Cool to mild with moderate south to southeast winds, fresh at times about the coastSaturday 2 MarchFine apart from isolated showers over East Gippsland. Mainly sunny in the north and west. Mild to warm with moderate east to southeast winds, fresh and gusty about the coast.Sunday 3 MarchFine apart from isolated morning showers in Gippsland.
